I just wanted to pop in and say hello while I'm neck deep and thoroughly consumed with working on the SS12 collection! I figured this might be a good time to let you all know about some big changes happening around these parts. Hopefully it'll be less "WTF, where did this come from?!" keeping you all abreast this way.
First off, it'll likely come as no surprise, but starting with the upcoming SS12 collection, my products will no longer be handmade. I really want to see this little business of mine grow and I'm at a point where I can just no longer keep up with demand while maintaining my sanity whilst sewing everything myself. I'm just so darned burned out sewing soooo many garments (mind you, this is certainly not a complaint!!). This said, all of my goods will indeed remain lovingly and impeccably made in Brooklyn, however. I've found a wonderful manufacturer right in the heart of Greenpoint who I'm super excited to work with.
Next up, as I've mentioned a few times already, I'm gettin' in on the textile racket finally! It was a heck of a lot of work designing my own textiles for the first time (my hat goes off to you Jennifer & Ellen!) but it's definitely the direction I want to go in. I feel like I've finally managed to bring all of my skills to the table in doing this. As soon as I get some sample yardage back from the printer, promise there will be some sneak peaks!
Lastly, there's gonna be jewelry too! Big, chunky, bold brass goodness. I'm not so entirely sure about this direction but it's something I've been playing with and I'm super curious to see how you guys dig it.
So there you have it! You now know what's in store. Can't wait to share once it's all complete. :)
I hope that after this I'll be able to provide you all with a bit more consistency instead of throwing a million new things out there all out once!
