...In Store...

I know it's been quiet around these parts lately. Since I got back from the holidays, it's been a mad scramble to get orders out the door while also gearing up for SS12!

Now that I'm finally done with school (whoo!whoo!), I can really begin to take this line in the direction I've always wanted to take it, **doing my own textiles.** I worked as an editorial illustrator for years so this really feels like I'm finally coming full circle. It's been such an exciting process, albeit pretty damn frustrating at times. I've gotta say I'm pretty nervous about it all, however! Nervous that the designs will print alright and even more nervous that you all will like them!

+++++

In the meantime, I hoarded so many insane *goodies from all my favorite designers over the holidays that a little sharing is definitely in order real soon!

*A little Ermie vignette for inspiration (who better to inspire textiles than Jennifer?!)!

Fantastic, Ilana! I am excited to see your textiles. You have a great eye for style so I am sure you will come up with some great designs.

Why not do what Jennifer does (and you have done with fabric ideas in the past) and give us previews before jumping right in? Then you can gauge how well they are being received (and build a bit of hype). If you have the option of doing smaller print runs first, that is.

thanks belinda! :) I might definitely try what jennifer does, I just need to to get the images copyrighted first ( i know jennifer does this as well!). thing is, i'm having all of the fabric screen printed rather than printed digitally. the turn around before i even have a printed sample in my hands will be a little over a month!!! the wait is gonna kiiiiillll me!

Oh yes. A month is a long time. I am so naive - I never even thought about copyright. I suppose that's the kind of world we live in, isn't it.

Screen printed, huh? Now I am REALLY excited!

that's why i had to scramble to get it done! :) ha, and I never would have even thought to copyright if it weren't for jennifer....and unfortunately, textiles ARE the only thing we can copyright in fashion. :(
