In my family, we do love our tacky hanukkah ornaments. Now that my brother & I are both long out of the house, the parents don't do it up like they used to but I still love it.
And here's the a wonderful 2012 for everyone! For me, 2011 was one heck of a whirlwind year full of big decisions and changes and I can't thank you all enough. That thanks goes out wholeheartedly to everyone who's supported me over the past year, anyone who may have purchased any of my work or even just said a kind word. Every bit of it means the world to me. Now let's all get out our fancy pants party clothes and ring in 2012 the *right way cause it's gonna knock the socks off 2011!
*involves a great deal of champagne...

Happy New Year!
Happy new year, Ilana! It's always a pleasure to spend time here with you. x
That illuminated chanukiah in the top image is outrageously bright. We must be a bit boring down under because I have never seen anything like it!
Belated Chanukah and New Year wishes to you, Ilana! Your photo of the dripped candle wax reminds me how much I dislike cleaning off my menorah after the holiday is over; the reason it usually goes into storage covered in wax ;)
kate, belinda - happy new year back at ya! glad my pics were able to give you a taste of the tackiness that is hanukkah in the us. :) wish i had some pics of the house when i was a kid, then you'd REALLY be impressed.
jennifer, thank goodness that's my parent's menorah! damn straight, I certainly wasn't the one who had to clean the wax!!!! I'm more of an electric menorah girl myself. :)
